The Ronald McDonald house in CT is a place of hope and love. My eyes see, my mind comprehends, and my heart feels, these emotions frequently in the eyes of the guests at the house. The house is known as “the house that love built”. People with great love and passion created the house in the 1980s. I see love expressed in the house every shift. As a Night Manager and prior Volunteer, I have seen great love that these parents have for their children. The parents also have outstanding strength. The best days at work are days in which I have the opportunity to listen to a parent when he or she needs to express thanksgiving or worries. It is also outstanding to see and hear how the families provide comfort for each other amongst worry and pain. Every day at work provides me with new insight and the opportunity to be a witness of God’s grace.
