Our Story
Our Mission
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
Together, our vision is a world where every family has what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children.
Our purpose is caring for families with children who are ill or injured.
Our Impact
Each year our Ronald McDonald House programs serve as a home away from home for hundreds of families from around the country and world. We’ve served over 25,000 families as their children seek essential healthcare, and we’ve helped families save nearly $2 million in hotel and food costs annually.
Our History
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts has kept children and their families close to vital medical resources since 1988.
Formed initially with a focus on non-profit granting, college scholarships and community support, RMHC of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts merged with the Ronald McDonald Houses of Connecticut and Springfield in 2013. The merger strengthened our brand and increased our impact on families by transitioning our focus to House programs. Currently, our Houses serve children seeking care at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, Yale New Haven Health, Shriners Hospital for Children, and Baystate Children's Hospital, as well as additional local facilities.
In 2017, RMHC of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts opened a new Connecticut House, which continues to provide support to families and children from around the country and world.
