We are from the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps EWT School located in Holyoke MA. We are from the school’s transition program where we volunteer in numerous locations around western mass. Our volunteer group consists of six students and two staff members. The students are Asha, Bryan, Jonathan, Luis, Shay and Johnathan. They started volunteering at the Ronald McDonalds House since fall 2016 and since have enjoyed attending Ronald McDonalds. The groups of students have enjoyed planning activities for the household members, which include table games, arts and crafts, yard work, office work and culinary skills. Bryan has enjoyed office work and shredding documents. Asha enjoys engaging in table games with the children. Jonathan enjoys interacting and mentoring the kids at Ronald McDonalds. Luis enjoys engaging in conversations with the household members. Shay enjoys setting up arts and crafts for the children and Johnathan enjoys demonstrating self-defense techniques to some of the children. Our transition group appreciates the hard work and dedication of our transition coordinator for collaborating with the Ronald McDonalds House and making this experience a positive outcome to benefit the children of our communities.
