Making Progress on the Room Makeover Project at the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield
Thanks to the diligence of Craig Carr, Chair, Room Makeover Committee and the tireless work of the members of the committee, we are in the final stages of completing the demolition and reconstruction of our 21-bedroom house. Our House has served more than 12,000 families since opening our special “home away from home” in 1991. The rehabilitation of all the bedrooms will include wider doors, refinished walls, new furnishings and updated bathrooms to accommodate new handicap accessible appliances, grab bars, and new fixtures in the bathrooms. “We have completed the entire first floor, 7 bedrooms and a communal handicapped-accessible bathroom/shower,” stated Craig. “This will truly make a significant difference for the children we serve.” Renovation of the second floor bedrooms has begun and our remaining bedrooms and common areas are ready to be completed when funding is received. Currently, $899,000 has been raised toward our $1.4 million project fundraising goal. We sincerely thank all of those who have given to this very special project. You are the heroes of each and every child and family who reside at our House.
We hope that you will join us in supporting this special project to help children and families in need.
