What We Do
Since our inception in 1988, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts has awarded over $6 million to more than 400 local non-profit organizations that directly improve the health and well being of children.
RMHC makes a difference in the lives of children in three key ways:
- Grants - the local chapter awards grants to non-profit organizations throughout Connecticut (excluding Fairfield County, which is serviced by a different RMHC chapter) and Western Massachusetts (Franklin, Hampshire and Hamden counties only; other counties are serviced by a different RMHC chapter).
- Scholarships - each year the local chapter awards a total of $50,000 to graduating high school seniors residing within the charity’s service area.
- Special Programs - throughout the year the local chapter executes various programs to support its mission, including the Local Hero Awards to honor area teachers who help shape our children’s futures.
