Volunteer Story – Priscilla

I am a Dental Hygiene Student at the University of New Haven. This past October I had the opportunity to become a volunteer through the community work study at school for The Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut. Prior to going I was unaware of what the House was for, I did some research and knew this is exactly how I wanted to spend my volunteer hours. I was excited to begin this journey. It was going to be good being able to give back to the community. This house and the families and the employees make it a great experience. Being able to comfort someone when they need it most is the greatest feeling that anyone can experience. I look forward to the 3 days a week that I get to go in and be in the house and help with whatever is needed. Being in the health care field, this has shown me how to be more compassionate towards people and help those who need it most. I am so thankful for this experience and I honestly feel The Ronald McDonald House of CT has changed me!
