King Ward Coach Lines held a month long food drive with it’s passengers on their Mohegan Sun bus run to raise much needed non perishable food items for the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield, MA®. Dennis King, President, said that they wanted to do something to give back to the community and decided to do the food drive on their Mohegan Sun runs to raise food for various charitable organizations in the greater Springfield area.
October was Ronald McDonald House month and Jennifer Putnam, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House, MA® said that the donation couldn’t be more timely. “For the first time in over 20 years we had to evacuate the House due to the power outage and all of our families’ food was spoiled. It was a sight for sore eyes when the King Ward Coach Lines bus pulled up with its baggage area filled to the brim with non perishable food items. The families got their pick of food items to refill their food cabinets with plenty leftover for our pantry.”
