Our volunteers give their time, compassion, and talents towards making brighter futures for the children and families RMHC CTMA programs serve. Without volunteers, we would not have the “Houses that Love built” nor the impact in our community through our grants and scholarship program. Each volunteer helps in their own special way and personally affects every family we serve.
Two very special group of volunteers are the Springfield Teen Board and the Connecticut Junior Board. Each group is comprised of local High School students which dedicate their time and efforts to better the lives of the children and families staying in our Houses. Not only do they hold holiday parties and activities for our families and volunteer at annual special events, they also fundraise to support the families that call us home.
Recently, the Springfield Teen Board held a Skate Night at Cyr Arena in Forest Park sponsored by Springfield Capitals Youth Hockey and raised over $800 for RMHSP Families.
The Connecticut Junior Board held a Pancake Breakfast and Raffle at Eli’s Restaurant in Hamden and raised over $600 for RMHCT families.
