Hello from Cyprus!

SP family story Ermolia_0It has been a long time since the last time we have met and talked. It is me, Ermolia!

My mother and I always think and talk about you and how much you have helped us. The Ronald McDonald House had been our home away from our home- A wonderful place to stay, full with amazing people and workers… It has already been six years since we left the House and returned back to Cyprus, but you still cross my mind every single day. Without you, nothing would be the same. I have gone through the hardest time of my life while I was at RMH, with all the operations and treatment I had, but still, it was the most amazing time of my life. All thanks to you. My mother felt she always had someone to talk to and rely on during those hard times. And I am really thankful for all you have offered to her as well.

After returning back to Cyprus I continued my studies at the University of Cyprus. I have studied Educational Sciences- Primary Education and I am a Greek language teacher, able to teach children all subjects as well. The last year I have been also taking Spanish language lessons at the Embassy of Spain in Cyprus. Since I came back to Cyprus, I have wanted to come to the states again to visit you and also find a job there. I would really love to come to the states to live and work there. Every year, when the clinic of the Shriners Hospital visits Cyprus, I volunteer as an interpreter and help the families with the language and with further information about the hospital and of course the Ronald McDonald House.  It is a dream of mine to come back to the house and work with the Cypriot families who stay there and have treatment at the hospital and of course with all the others families from all over the world.

Once again, thank you for everything you have done for us!!

Love,

Ermolia and Helena!
